This wine presents a deep garnet dress. A very fine nose with aromas of black cherry, ripe olive and chocolate. Full, consistent, well-structured mouth with a beautiful fabric. The aromatic persistence is impressive with notes of liquorice and spices, cloves, cinnamon, plum and green pepper. A truly great wine worthy of meditative enjoyment. Expect more excellence with aging.

Rhône Wine expert for Decanter magazine, Matt Walls believes Ventoux AOC is now blossoming into the showcase of the region.
Walls has chosen the Via Caritatis Abbayes Tota Pulchra Es 2020 to illustrate the excellence of Rhône Valley wines saying ‘The quality really does range all the way up to the best in the Southern Rhône’.
This wine comes from a selection of the most beautiful plots of the monastic vineyard, the result of the exclusive work of monks and nuns. This unique cuvée is produced in small quantities and only when the vintage allows it. This wine comes in particular from the plot of the Clos de l'Annonciation at the place called La Font de Pertus.

Perfect with prime rib cooked with pepper sauce or spiced lamb or lamb cooked with herbs or tapenade. Could also compliment partridge cooked with lentils.
We loved it with a delicate, spiced roast duck with a simple side of peas.

Whilst young men from around France come here to dedicate themselves to the spiritual life, lifting their voices in praise according to ancient Latin chants seven times daily, they also pour their energy into producing wines to the highest standards, and use the knowledge they gain through the study of the land and vines to benefit the small winegrowers in the community around them.
